Every season, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern welcomes illustrious musical guests from around the world to Northern Germany. And we have another exciting line-up “in petto” for you in 2012! You can experience American fiddler Mark O'Connor on June 17 in Rostock, together with the Camerata Bern, presenting a programme that spans the “four seasons”. Lisa Batiashvili and Truls Mørk will take the stage in Stolpe (June 24), and Jan Vogler will be playing all of Bach’s Cello Suites (July 26 and 27 in Greifswald). Julia Fischer will be introducing her new quartet (August 5 in Wismar) and will also be performing Brahms' Double Concerto with Daniel Müller-Schott (August 19 in Ulrichshusen). World-class violist Nils Mönkemeyer will join Daniel Hope for a performance of Bruch’s Double Concerto (August 12 in Stolpe).

In addition, the Festspiele programme will once again feature a number of star pianists. Martin Stadtfeld will be giving a concert together with the Kammerphilharmonie Amadé (June 23 in Schwerin), Boris Berezovsky will play Mossolow in Redefin (June 16), and Bruno Leonardo Gelber will interpret Beethoven’s 3rd Piano Concerto (July 21 in Redefin).

We are especially pleased to be introducing our audiences to some of the best singers and vocal ensembles of the classical music scene. The King's Singers will honour us this season with two concerts (June 29 in Penzlin, July 1 in Bad Doberan), and Christiane Oelze will be performing with the Nash Ensemble of London (July 20 in Parchim). Christiane Karg and Nuria Rial will be bringing Handel’s seldom-performed oratorio “Solomon” to the stage in Schwerin(August 3), and Anne Sofie von Otter will perform Telemann in Ulrichshusen (August 12).
